Ground Breaking Ceremony

Culminating almost five years of research and planning, the Ottawa Humane Society held its ceremonial ground breaking ceremony May 7 at the West Hunt Club site of the new facility.

Among the dignitaries and guests helping to mark the occasion were committed OHS volunteer, Laureen Harper, and the Honourable John Baird, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure, and Communities.

With the ground breaking complete and construction slated to begin shortly, the OHS wants to remind everyone who cares about Ottawa's animals that the campaign is not yet complete. While having over 75% of the funds committed gives us confidence to proceed, we still need the support of our community to complete this important project.
