Breaking Ground

Clinic in the New Building

Since 1949 the Ottawa Humane Society’s Auxiliary has supported the OHS by raising funds for the animals in our care. The Auxiliary continues to show unwavering support for our work in all of their efforts. They have raised and donated over $300,000 toward the Breaking Ground Building Campaign and have selected the new clinic for naming.

It is not too late to make your pledge to the animals!

The new home of the Ottawa Humane Society is currently under construction and nearing completion. We are all looking forward to having a facility that will help us provide the very best in animal care. The adoption centre will be larger, more inviting with the ability to spend more time with your prospective new pet in the privacy of a contact room. The new education centre will offer expanded educational programming to the public.

If you have not yet had a chance to make your pledge to help build a brighter future for Ottawa’s animals, it is not too late. You can still see your name on our donor wall in our new Adoption Centre. Pledges made by the end of April will appear for the openings.

Naming Opportunity: Dog Runs, Holding

The dog runs in our new shelter will keep the dogs in our care healthy and happy.

The dog holding area features:
• Natural light throughout.
• Epoxy flooring that is easy to clean and disinfect.
• A guillotine dividing door which can divide a dog run into two separate dog runs in emergency situations, allowing for a higher capacity when needed.
• Each dog room opens up onto its own exterior dog run.
