Community Kudos
Thank you to all of our wonderful OHS supporters – individuals, companies, groups and associations who have organized a community event or activity to raise money for Ottawa's animals.
Whether big or small, private or public, the effort and passion that you put into each and every event is appreciated and has a positive impact on the lives of the animals we care for.
Students at South Carleton High School held a series of fundraisers during the 2010-2011 academic year and chose to donate the proceeds to the animals at the Ottawa Humane Society. The students’ fundraising efforts brought in over $5,000 for the animals. Congratulations on such a wonderful achievement!
A big thank you to George Armstrong, Michael Jackson and Craig Stevenson for organizing a neighbourhood rib fest. Over $2,400 was raised to support the animals at the Ottawa Humane Society.
Emily Greenlaw and Kristen Lancaster organized the first Brides Run for the OHS in support of the animals. Brides, bridesmaids, flower girls, grooms and groomsmen put on their gowns, dresses and tuxedos to participate in a walk through parts of downtown Ottawa, followed by a reception with great music and food.
For the fourth year in a row, proceeds from the Stittsville holiday craft sale were donated to the animals at the OHS. Thank you to event organizer Gord Caffery for all of his hard work organizing this annual event, which resulted in a $1,000 donation
Many thanks to Denis Rule Photography in collaboration with Dexter’s Den for organizing photo sessions over Christmas for the 2nd year in a row. Together $1300 was raised to support the animals at the Ottawa Humane Society.
Critter Crafters is a group of OHS supporters who have come together to use their talents to support their favourite charity. The group dropped by the shelter to drop off their annual donation of $14,500! A huge thank you to the dedicated members of Critter Crafters, your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Meet Your Match, an annual dinner/dance where Ottawa’s eligible singles mingle, have fun and raise money for the animals. The event has taken place in Ottawa since 2002 and has raised over $12,000. Thank you very much to event organizer Carol Gordon who spends countless hours ensuring the success of this spectacular event!

A big round of a-paws to Susan Giles for her on-going dedication the animals at the Ottawa Humane Society. Susan held a Poker Run fundraiser in October and raised over $300 to support the animals.
Students of Bell High School Key Club held a series of fundraisers including a Halloween Teacher Auction, and chose to donate the proceeds to the animals at the OHS. The students’ fundraising efforts brought in over $400 for the animals. Congratulations on such a wonderful achievement.
