Heather, Frances and Sarah from R. Tait McKenzie Public School

Three amazing young ladies from R. Tait McKenzie Public School, Heather, Frances and Sarah, are mega animal lovers! Having recently lost dear class pet MeatBall the guinea pig, they decided the best way to show their love for animals would be to pick the OHS as their charity of choice for the Grade 6 Social Justice Fair. And guess what? They raised the most money out of all the groups participating – a HUGE 167.28! Way to go ladies!

Jake T. sure knows how to show his love for Ottawa’s animals! This amazing young man came to visit the animals at the shelter and made a donation of $43.80! Wow! This money will go towards helping more of Ottawa’s homeless, injured and abused animals – way to go, Jake!

 

Marek F.

Marek wanted to turn five years old in an extra special way… by helping Ottawa’s animals! This amazing youngster asked for donations to the animals in lieu of presents for their special day and raised a whopping $150!! Great work, Marek! From all the animals at the shelter we want to wish you an extra special happy birthday!

Ruth knows that the best way she can help Ottawa’s kitties this summer is by coming down to the shelter for a cuddle and leaving a donation to make sure every kitty gets a second chance. This wonderful lady popped by to say hello to the animals in our care and left $10 on her way out! Amazing! Thank you Ruth!

Aldwyn A. & Jaryn Z. from Westwind Public School

Mrs. Laura Bond is a teacher on a mission – a mission to teach children about the importance of giving back! And her students definitely listen because Aldwyn A. and Jarun Z. came by the shelter to donate $44.95 they raised in support of their school project on raising awareness for a cause. Way to go Aldwyn,  Jaryn and Mrs. Bond!

Great minds think alike! Three amazing young adults, Fath, Simon and Makenzie, put their minds together to raise money for a cause that is close to their hearts – Ottawa’s animals – and raised a HUGE $389.40! AMAZING! These incredible fundraisers held bake sales at their school and at the Orleans Vet Hospital (thank you Orleans Vet Hospital!) and raised much needed funds for Ottawa’s animals. Thank you!!

Lynley S. is a real hero to the animals! This amazing young lady came to visit the animals at the shelter and while she was there she dropped off her donation of $133.00! This money will go a long way in helping many, many animals to come! Thank you Lynley!

Do you know is THE hottest fashion trend right now? Giving back to Ottawa’s animals! Miss Zoe and Miss Ella sure know this because they turned giving back into a real fashion statement with their bracelet fundraisers. These amazing young ladies raised a HUGE $17 to help Ottawa’s animals and I bet they looked GREAT doing it! Way to go, ladies!

Katelin P. & Olivia G.

Katelin and Olivia are two grade 6 students who know that “Nobody” should feel alone – even the animals at the shelter. So in honour of their Grade 6 “Nobody” project these amazing young ladies help bake sales and lemonade stands to raise much needed funds for Ottawa’s animals and donated a MASSIVE $160!! WOW – Great work ladies!

The young students at the Star of David Hebrew School don’t just learn what a good deed is… they practice it! And this year they choose the reciepient of their “mitzvah” to be the animals at the Ottawa Humane Society! These incredible students collected their loose change all school year and raised a whopping $323.45 for Ottawa’s animals in need! Thank you students!!

 

MalaRae

The wonderful people at MalaRae chose to donate $1 from every bracelet sold at the City of Om festival that took place on June 4, 2016 at Lansdowne Park. They sold 200 bracelets which meant a HUGE $200 for the animals in the care of the Ottawa Humane Society! Wow – thanks MalaRae!

TPG Technology Consulting LTD

The wonderful group at TPG Consulting LTD held their annual Spring Reception back in May and decided to ask for donations to the animals at the event. Head office decided to match the donations raised by the staff – to a grand sum of $110. Wow – amazing job TPG team!

Margo L.

Margo sure knows how to host a garage sale! This young lady decided to hold a toy sale at the famous Great Glebe Garage Sale and donated all the proceeds to the animals in the care of the Ottawa Humane Society. She raised a MASSIVE $120 for the animals! Great job Margo!!

Amy & Ella P.

Sometimes making a donation to the animals doesn’t need a reason, it just feels right! That’s what Ella & Amy P. think! These amazing young ladies donated $54.55 to the animals and we couldn’t be happier! Thank you very much, ladies!

Izzy C.

Instead of gifts, Izzy chose to raise funds for the Ottawa Humane Society at her 4th birthday party. This incredible youngster raised $10 in support of Ottawa’s animals. What a great way to celebrate your special day, Izzy! Happy birthday!

Meredith B. wanted an extra special way to show her love for Ottawa’s animals so she decided to share her very special day with them – by supporting the Ottawa Humane Society. This wonderful young lady turned 10 and asked for donations to the animals from her friends and family in lieu of birthday presents. Wow – that is so thoughtful, Meredith! Happy birthday!

Sophie W. turned a hot day into a cool donation for the animals at the Ottawa Humane Society! This amazing young lady held a lemonade stand and decided to donate all the proceeds to the OHS! Wow – that is SO generous Sophie. She raised over $102… must have been one busy lemonade stand!

Danika K. partied like an animal when she held her birthday party at the Ottawa Humane Society in May… but she didn’t stop there! This amazing young lady asked her party guests for donations to the animals in lieu of birthday presents for herself! WOW – what a way to celebrate, Danika! Thank you!

Payton wanted to celebrate her birthday in the most purr-fect way – so this incredible young lady had her friends bring donations to the animals in the care of the OHS to her birthday party instead of giving her birthday presents. She collected a a HUGE $80 for the OHS! Thank you, Payton!

Allison W. knew what she wanted for her birthday – to help Ottawa’s animals! She included a donation to the animals at the OHS as part of her birthday party loot bags and this added up to a BIG $100! WOW! Way to go, Allison!

Victoria, 11, and Daniel, 8, wanted to help the animals at the Ottawa Humane Society so they each donated $15 to go towards anything the shelter might need to help care for them! What a selfless thing to do, Victoria and Daniel. Great job!

Jacob T.

Jacob T. wanted to celebrate his birthday by helping the animals, so he asked for donations in lieu of gifts for his ninth birthday! This amazing young man collected much needed funds and items – $150 worth in total – to help support the Ottawa Humane Society Way to go, Jacob!

Lauren B. decided she wanted to help the animals in the care of the Ottawa Humane Society so she stirred, sifted and sprinkled her way into animal hearts by holding a bake sale! This amazing young lady sure knows how to “bake” a difference in animal lives – she raised a sweet $110! Thank you Lauren!

Chloe says she asked her friends to donate to the Ottawa Humane Society in honour of her 11th birthday because she wants the animals to be healthy and all to find homes. She raised a HUGE $60! What a generous and very thoughtful way to celebrate your special day, Chloe!

Yee-haw! How does a group of cowboy-hat-wearing, fajita-loving, margarita-serving staff show their love for Ottawa’s animals? By helping hold a special Monday Night family fundraiser at their restaurant’s location! They raised a Texas-sized $217! Yippe!!

Noemi M. is a very generous young lady. This 13-year-old worked diligently to raise much needed funds to help Ottawa’s animals. She held bake sales and made/sold t-shirts to raise a MASSIVE $500 in support of the Ottawa Humane Society! Way to go, Noemi!
