Hosting an Event for the Ottawa Humane Society

Hosting an event in support of the Ottawa Humane Society is a great way to get you, your family, friends and colleagues involved and make a difference in the lives of Ottawa’s animals. The funds you raise will assure a future for Ottawa’s homeless animals.

Follow these easy steps to host an event for the animals:

  1. Decide on an event that you would like to host
  2. Fill out and submit a Community Event Request Form
  3. Host your event and have fun making a difference!
  4. Raise Funds online through My Fundraiser or offline at your event
  5. Contact the OHS Coordinator: Events to arrange a time to bring in any offline funds raised from your event

Additional Event Support:                                                                           

The Ottawa Humane Society can provide the following support once your event has been approved:

  • Event resources and OHS promo materials
  • Include your event in our Calendar of Events on the OHS website
  • Use of the OHS name and logo
  • In some cases OHS staff, volunteers and animals can attend your event

The Ottawa Humane Society is unable to provide the following:

  • Funding or reimbursement for event expenses
  • Mail or email lists such as donor lists and staff lists
  • Guaranteed promotion or advertising of your event other than on our Calendar of Events
  • Guaranteed attendance of staff, volunteers or animals at your event
  • Application for gaming or liquor licenses
  • Assistance with ticket sales or corporate sponsorship
  • Supply prizes and auction items
