Looking to make a Tribute Gift? Make a gift in honour or in memory of a friend, family member or pet.
Gifts to the animals at the OHS are a terrific way to help fund our essential community programs and services for Ottawa's animals.
Types of OHS tribute gifts
- E-cards - choose from a selection of images appropriate to the occasion, personalize it with your own message, and send to one or many recipients. Make a gift now!
- In memoriams - honour people or companion animals that have passed away. Make a gift now!
- Birthdays - celebrate someone's special occasion by making a birthday gift or organizing a birthday party with donations to the OHS in lieu of birthday gifts. Make a gift now!
- Weddings - celebrate a couple's happy day by making a wedding gift or organize your wedding with donations to the OHS in lieu of wedding gifts or wedding favours. Make a gift now!

In-memoriam Gifts
In memoriams – for individuals and companion animals that have passed away. Make a gift to the animals in lieu of flowers or in memory of a companion animal that has passed away.
Honour someone you love by making a gift to the Ottawa Humane Society in his or her name. Whether in celebration of a life lived or a tribute to someone dear to you, your gift is a powerful expression of your beliefs and values.
Why give a memorial gift?
- Giving in memory of loved ones who have passed is a way to remember their own generosity and help them continue to make a difference in this world.
- Send the deceased's family an e-card or an acknowledgement letter, or have a memorial card given to them by the funeral home.
- Donors receive a tax receipt.

Birthdays
Make a gift to the animals in lieu of a birthday gift. We will send the birthday person an e-card or a birthday certificate as well as send you a charitable tax receipt.

Weddings
Celebrate a couple's happy day by making a wedding gift to the animals. We will send an e-card or an acknowledgement letter to the happy couple as well as sending you a charitable tax receipt.
For couples getting married:
- Would you like to assist the 11,000 animals that we help every year? Consider asking your family, friends and co-workers to make wedding gifts to the animals at the OHS.
- Instead of providing wedding favours to your guests, you can send the money normally spent on these gifts to our animals in need.
- We can provide acknowledgement cards for your guests outlining your kind gesture.

Graduations
Make a gift to the animals in lieu of a graduation gift. We will send an e-card or a congratulatory letter to the graduate as well as sending you a charitable tax receipt.

Retirement Gifts and Special Workplace Anniversaries

Holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah
Make a holiday donation to the animals. We will send an e-card or a special holiday certificate to the person of your choice indicating that a gift has been made in their honour. We will also send you a charitable tax receipt.
