Ottawa Humane Society Auxiliary

Background

The Auxiliary was formed in 1949. Our mandate is to support the Society, and to raise funds for the animals in their care. Throughout the past 60 years, the funds have supported fostering, adoption, medicines, food and equipment - whatever is needed to care for the animals. Currently, the money we raise goes towards the new shelter which is desperately needed to care for an ever increasing number of animals.

We continue to achieve this mandate with our annual "Blooms & Berries" event, our active craft group, garage sales, etc. We also assist the Society at many of their events by volunteering to help in various capacities.

Auxiliary Meetings

The Auxiliary meets at 1:30 on the SECOND Thursday of the month at Parkdale United Church, 429 Parkdale Avenue (between Gladstone Avenue and Wellington Street).  We meet in the Ladies Parlour on the second floor.  For those requiring assistance, there is a ramp on the Gladstone Avenue side (ring the door bell) and a lift available.  Ample parking can be found at the rear of the church.
From time to time, after the business portion of our meeting is completed, we have a speaker on an animal-related topic.  We finish by socializing over tea and goodies.

All are welcome.  Please join us!
