Office Support and Data Entry

Office CatHelping in the office helps the animals!

Office volunteers are very valuable at the OHS. Volunteers help in the office with a variety of projects including: data entry, filing, telephone calls, photocopying, and research.

Office volunteers are needed at the OHS from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:30am and 4:30pm.

Office Volunteer Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Volunteers must have some weekday, daytime availability.
  • Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of one morning or afternoon shift per week.
  • Volunteers must have strong computer skills and experience with data entry.
  • Volunteers must have strong communication skills.
  • Volunteers must be comfortable making telephone calls.
  • All office volunteers are required to attend a general orientation.

Steps to Becoming an Office Volunteer:

  • Download a copy of the OHS Volunteer Application Package:
  • Complete the application package and return to the OHS Volunteer Department, volunteer@ottawahumane.ca.
  • Volunteers whose skills, availability, and interest areas match the Office Volunteer Program will be contacted for an interview. If we do not have a volunteer opportunity immediately available, volunteer applications will be kept on file for 2 months.
  • Following your interview, you will be asked to complete a police record check for working with the vulnerable sector and scheduled for an orientation.
