This year, April 18 to 24 is designated as National Volunteer Week. National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration of the invaluable services provided by volunteers. The campaign recognizes Canadians who selflessly give their time to support a wide range of causes and contribute to the betterment of their communities.
In conjunction with National Volunteer Week, on behalf of all of us at the OHS, I would like to extend a very special thank you to all volunteers who tirelessly support the OHS and the animals in our care. The OHS relies heavily on the time and talent of volunteers. Volunteers are major contributors to our ability to care for animals, serve our community and to change the future for generations of animals to come.
Last year, over 450 volunteers filled essential roles in dog walking, brightening lives, fostering, office and administrative support, events, humane education, and in a variety positions caring for animals in the shelter and in your own homes. Your contribution helps the OHS achieve its mission and provide a safe haven for the 11,000 animals in the care of the OHS annually.
Thank you for everything you do. We sometimes may forget to say it, but everyone at the OHS values you, your commitment, and kindness. Only because of your hard work has the OHS remained a strong community builder and a leader in animal welfare.
