Lenny - The Chatty Charmer

Hi, I’m Lenny!

From my foster volunteer: Lenny is part Bengal but he is 100 percent Bengal personality! He is a handful and does not enjoy being alone and is glued to me. He is so busy, so curious and always up for play. He walks railings, opens cupboards, helps with dishes and making meals. He's always on my counters, Lenny wants to be involved in every single thing you do. And talk, oh my he talks and talks back! He understands basic commands, he knows his name and will answer you, he doesn't like the word no and he doesn't like when you close a door that he can't get into and he will tell you that until you can distract him to something else. He has a need for speed, so he needs the space for his energy level and if possible different heights (like an obstacle course on the wall). When he has the zoomies, you need to watch out because he will go through you or over/under you.

The staff at the OHS call me a Co-pilot! Co-pilots thrive on being an involved family member, and will likely want to spend a good chunk of their time with you playing, chatting, training, and snoozing. They can handle alone time if you give them enough to do, and their favourite independent activities usually include exploring tunnels, perching by the window, playing with novel toys, and cozying up for a nap. But be ready, because these social kitties will be waiting for you! If you're having guests over, you might find your Co-pilot at your side acting as your official greeter. And if you're working around the house a Co-pilot might just want to help - keep an eye on your keyboard! Co-pilots may also be good candidates for harness training and leash walks outdoors. After living with a Co-pilot, you'll wonder how you ever managed without one.

Special Considerations:

  • My mom is a Bengal! I show a lot of Bengal behaviours like being very active and vocal. It is recommended to research the Bengal breed to ensure I am a match for you.
  • I am on a special prescription diet as I had some diarrhea while under the care of the OHS. I have been doing well on this diet and dexamethasone (a steroid). At this time I may have a condition known as inflammatory bowel disease. This may mean I need to be on a prescription diet and medication for life. I may also need more veterinary care such as monitoring blood work and/or diagnostics such as an ultrasound, endoscopy, or other tests.
  • I had some soft stool or diarrhea while at the shelter. I have been dewormed, some diagnostic tests have been run, and I may be on a special diet as a result. My soft stool may be related to stress and resolve in a home. If it returns, I may need more diagnostic tests and an ongoing special diet and/or other medications.

If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application. Please be advised that although we do offer on-the-spot-adoptions, this is dependent on appointment schedules and cannot be guaranteed.

My ID number is A267219 when you fill out my adoption application <3
