Smokey - The Playful Cuddler

Hi, I’m Smokey!

From my foster volunteer: "Smokey is the silliest, sweetest boy you will ever meet! He loves to spend his days chasing flies and laser pointers, looking out the window and getting belly rubs. He'll greet you at the door when you get home, waiting to be picked up and cuddled! Everyone who has met him has absolutely fallen in love with him, and you will too!"

The staff at the OHS call me a Star! Stars tend to be self-starters and like to spend part of their day on independent activities, like exploring every nook and cranny of your home! They also enjoy time with their family, but usually on their own terms. Their favourite family activities may include playing with engaging toys, participating in fun training games, or curling up for a nap somewhere close by. Stars are usually pretty resourceful and like to figure out how things work, so they benefit from places to explore and perches near windows. Stars may also be good candidates for harness training and leash walks outdoors! If you're looking for an entertainer with loads of personality, a Star might just be the purrfect match for you!

This cat has been diagnosed with a heart murmur. A heart murmur is an abnormal sound a veterinarian can hear when listening to an animal’s heart. Many animals with heart murmurs go on to live happy and healthy normal lives. However, the status of the murmur will need to be monitored over time, and additional tests and medications may become necessary. You should discuss this condition with your veterinarian, and together you will decide how to manage the cat’s condition. The cause of a heart murmur cannot be determined by listening to the heart alone. Further tests will likely be needed to diagnose the underlying problem. This could include chest x-rays, a consult with a veterinary cardiologist, blood work, blood pressure testing and a cardiac ultrasound. For more information, visit https://www.veterinarypartner.com and search for “heart murmurs”.

I am currently relaxing in a foster home as I wait for my forever family. Please contact an adoptions staff to book an appointment to meet me!

If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application. Please be advised that although we do offer on-the-spot-adoptions, this is dependent on appointment schedules and cannot be guaranteed.
