Ghost — The Playful Sidekick
Hi, I’m Ghost!
The staff at the OHS call me a Performer! Performers love being at the centre of attention and are usually excited to meet all types of people, often introducing themselves! Performers need a high amount of exercise daily, and would love a daily hike, jog, bike ride, or long session of fetch every day. To work their minds, Performers usually love the excitement of food puzzles, frozen treats, training games, and hide-and-seek!
Performers need to be integrated into the family and are usually pretty fun to take out and about for family activities - they love being where the action is! After a good day of socializing and exercising, you'll usually find Performers flopped down next to you to enjoy some quality sleep time. If you're looking for an active, social companion, then you'll have lots of fun with a Performer!
Special Considerations:
- I resource guard so cannot be housed with any other animals.
- I had some soft stool or diarrhea while at the shelter. I have been dewormed, some diagnostic tests have been run, and I may be on a special diet as a result. My soft stool may be related to stress and resolve in a home. If it returns, I may need more diagnostic tests and an ongoing special diet and/or other medications.
- I have some teeth that are worn. This is likely due to me chewing objects that are too hard. I will require regular veterinary check-ups to monitor my teeth. In the future I may need dental care for this condition under general anesthesia, possibly including dental extractions or other procedures.
- I am a "Foster-Me-First" adoption. You can find more information about the Foster-Me-First Program here or call to speak to the adoption team at 613-725-3166 ext. 258.
I am currently relaxing in a foster home as I wait for my forever family. Please contact an adoptions staff to book an appointment to meet me!
If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application. Please be advised that although we do offer on-the-spot-adoptions, this is dependent on appointment schedules and cannot be guaranteed.
My ID number is A271287 when you fill out my adoption application <3
