Talent Pool

We’re building a talent pool of qualified, interested candidates for our current and future job opportunities, including full-time, part-time, casual and temporary contract positions. If you are looking to start or continue your career in animal care, shelter medicine or non-profit work, the OHS might be the right fit for you!

Applications will be kept in our talent pool for upcoming opportunities with the OHS on an ongoing basis. Requirements vary based on the role’s specific needs, and shortlisted candidates will be contacted only for the roles for which they’re being considered. 

Attendant: Animal Care

The OHS is an animal shelter and a community resource for animal welfare. The Attendant: Animal Care is responsible for providing animal husbandry and cleaning of animal care facilities at the Ottawa Humane Society (OHS).

Assistant Veterinary Technician (Casual)

The OHS is an animal shelter and a community resource for animal welfare. The Assistant: Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing a range of services, including medical, for animals in the care of the Ottawa Humane Society.

Assistant Veterinary Technician (Part-Time)

The OHS is an animal shelter and a community resource for animal welfare. The Assistant: Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing a range of services, including medical, for animals in the care of the Ottawa Humane Society.

Customer Service Representative: Adoptions

The OHS helps animals find their forever homes and supports pet owners in the community. The customer services representative: adoptions works directly with the community to help them adopt a new pet and to learn how to care for their pet.

Customer Service Representative: Intake

The Customer Service Representative (CSR): Intake is responsible for providing consultation and support for OHS clients seeking OHS lost and found services and services of the Municipal Animal Shelter (MAS).

Customer Service Representative: Foster (Part-Time)

For many homeless animals, foster care makes all the difference in their recovery and finding their forever home. The Customer Service Representative: Foster helps coordinate foster care for Ottawa's animals.

Attendant: Direct Response (Casual)

The OHS is an animal shelter and a community resource for animal welfare. The Attendant: Direct Response is responsible for providing administrative support to the Development department at the Ottawa Humane Society (OHS) including supporting donor stewardship communications

Attendant: Adoption Reception (Casual)

The OHS helps animals find their forever homes and supports pet owners in the community. The attendant: adoption reception works directly with the community to help them adopt a new pet and to learn how to care for their pet.

Coordinator: Events

The OHS hosts and organizes various events. The coordinator: events is responsible for supporting the fundraising programs of the OHS by coordinating and executing fundraising and community engagement events.

Manager: Training & Development

The OHS is an animal shelter and a community resource for animal welfare. The manager: training & development is responsible for ensuring the team at the OHS is provided with relevant training and development for their role, and for future growth and enhancement of skills.

Manager: People & Culture

As the Manager: People and Culture you will play a key role in supporting our dedicated team by leading and managing the human resources functions of the OHS.
