Remington — The Senior Sweetheart

Hi, I’m Remington!

The staff at the OHS call me a Happy Homebody! Did you know that Happy Homebodies are friendly, laid back, happy to go with the flow, and only need a small amount of exercise each day to stay happy and healthy? That means you'll need to help them watch their figure! Only low-cal and healthful treats for a Happy Homebody. These happy-go-lucky pups, with their chill attitude and calm demeanor, are a fantastic addition to most families. And while they may be content to listen to the couch calling their name, Happy Homebodies still need and enjoy a daily neighbourhood stroll and fresh air. Other fun ways to help them maintain their figure include work-to-eat games like food puzzles, training games, and searching out hidden treats! If you're looking for a reliable and chill family companion, a Happy Homebody is your dog!

Special Considerations:

  • I have handling sensitivities, so I'm seeking a home with no children under the age of 14.
  • When left alone, I get anxious and scared.
  • I have some teeth that are worn. This is likely due to me chewing objects that are too hard. I will require regular veterinary check-ups to monitor my teeth. In the future I may need dental care for this condition under general anesthesia, possibly including dental extractions or other procedures.
  • I am exhibiting signs of allergies. Allergies in dogs often show up as inflamed, itchy skin and chronic/recurrent ear infections. Allergies can be a progressive and frustrating condition. There is no cure for allergies, and they will need to be managed lifelong. Animals on long-term medications will often require periodic blood work to monitor for side effects. Veterinary care to manage a dog with allergies can be costly. This dog may have food and/or environmental allergies. It is likely I will need to be on a prescription hypoallergenic diet and possibly prescription medication for life.
  • I have several small “skin tags” that should be monitored in my new home.
  • This dog was noted to have resorptive changes on dental x-ray and gingival hyperplasia while at the OHS. His dentition and gums should be monitored regularly by a veterinarian and he may need dental procedures in the future.

I am currently relaxing in a foster home as I wait for my forever family. Please contact an adoptions staff to book an appointment to meet me!

If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application.

My ID number is A273480 when you fill out my adoption application <3
