Make a Difference for Animals and Earn High School Volunteer Hours!

The OHS is seeking engaged, responsible teens between the ages of 14–18 to help make a difference for Ottawa’s animals!

This is a unique opportunity for youth to learn about animal welfare issues, find their own voice, and learn how to make a meaningful, positive impact for animals. Each workshop highlights a specific animal advocacy topic, participants are encouraged to come back for multiple workshops!

This workshop is structured into two parts:

  • Part 1: Animal Advocate Training

Increase awareness of animal advocacy in our community through an educational presentation and a shelter exploration to see advocacy in practice. This interactive training gets everyone participating!

  • Part 2: Help the Shelter Activity (Eligible for High School Volunteer Hours)

With guidance from an OHS facilitator, youth will work on a hands-on activity that supports animals in need. Participants are encouraged to take what they learn in this workshop and continue advocating for animals in our community!
